Maintenance Manager - BEC (NEW YORK)

Location: Glenmont, NY

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing and managing the overall on-line maintenance requirements of the plant site including short and long term business planning, budget development, and O&M management.Provides leadership on overall site maintenance activities to assure reliable and safe power generation. Responsible for managing a multi-disciplined workforce comprised of professional and bargaining unit associates in the maintenance of non-nuclear generation equipment. Responsible for daily supervision, monitoring and coaching of employees to ensure a productive workforce in compliance with company policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreements. Responsibilities include work planning, on-the-job training, arranging for maintenance work, inspections, and initiating requisitions for procurement of tools, materials, equipment and parts from vendors and services from contractors. Responsible for the calibration and storage of instrument test and measuring equipment and ensuring personnel are knowledgeable of and in compliance with applicable Standards and Procedures. Participate in station and Generation Department strategic planning initiatives. Aggressively support Streamlined Reliability Center Maintenance Program, Preventative Maintenance/Predictive Maintenance, root cause analysis, and equipment enhancements to lower operating and maintenance costs and meet reliability goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS in Engineering or technical field with 5 years of extensive experience in power plant maintenance or operations or at least 10 years operations, maintenance or technical experience in a power plant environment. Minimum of five years supervisory/managerial experience providing leadership to high performance work teams. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrated technical knowledge of industrial operations. Knowledge of State, Federal and Local government regulations as they apply to power plant operations. Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of complex projects with conflicting priorities while controlling costs and assuring quality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal. Strong computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and experience with SAP.
