- Controls Engineers must have a working knowledge of gas/steam turbine maintenance and operational theory. - Controls Engineers will install, commission, and troubleshoot the Turbine Control System for gas and steam turbines. Duties will consist of, but are not limited to, the following activities: - Trace through the software documentation - Implement control constant modifications - Reading and Modifying software sequencing
- Operation and configuration of regulators - Creating and modifying graphics displays
- Set up and modify the hardware and software associated with the Gas/Steam Turbine Control system - Implement control system software changes
- Windows XP based operator interfaces
- Work with both analog and digital controls
- Install and terminate wiring, complete functionality checks, and troubleshooting the turbine control system.
- Perform start-up/shut-down sequencing and turbine/generator operation.
Accountability: - Control of costs – mistakes could be detrimental to the job cost -Quality control, preservation, protection, security, and safekeeping of turbine modules, turbines, instruments, tools and accessories.
Responsibilities: -Conduct safety meetings, tool box talks to promote safe work practices to promote behavioral based safety. - Installation, Maintenance, Retrofits, Commissioning. - Planning during the start-up phase, possibly recommending and implementing policy and procedures. - May supervise I & C Techs & Electricians.
