*URGENT* SAFETY MANAGER – COAL FIRED POWER STATION – INDONESIA*

My client is one of the Market leaders in the Power Generation sector. They are heavily involved with large Thermal Power Generation projects, throughout the South East Asia region including Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

Due to their continued success within the industry they now require a Safety Manager to join a Coal Fired Power Station project in Indonesia. The project is over 1000MW and my client is providing in-house engineering services to the EPC Contractor. Their role is to coordinate / manage the subcontractors, including design review, site supervision and QA/QC.

With Design review now completed, the focus of this Safety Manager role is site supervision/ commissioning coordination. The construction process is underway, as are the early commissioning activities for BOP. The contract is for 1 – 1.5 years.

Responsibilities will include:
• Handle overall site safety, including the safety meetings with subcontractors
• Safety walk downs of the entire site
• Maintenance and updating of overall safety procedures
• Emergency response plans
• Safety clearance of systems for commissioning
• Supporting Permit to work procedures
• Preparation of Safety reports and statistics

Suitable candidates should have previous experience of working on a Coal Fired Power Station, in a Health and Safety Management position. You will have a higher professional degree (or equivalent) in an engineering field relevant for power plant projects and ideally you will have experience of working in South East Asia.
